Another month passes, and… yeah, I don’t have a great framing device for this edition of the newsletter, I’ll confess. 😅 Because mostly what I want to do is tell you about some neat stuff that’s happening!
News
At long last, the audiobook of The Bloodstained Shade is out!
The reason that this didn’t drop as the same time as the print and ebook editions, back in January, is because I wanted to stick with the same narrator, the absolutely amazing Khristine Hvam, who did such gorgeous work on From Unseen Fire and Give Way to Night.
But you can get it now! And this puppy comes in at a whopping 21 hrs and 28 mins on normal speed. Nearly a full day’s worth of entertainment for a single Audible credit!
Upcoming Events
This weekend, I’m going to be at ConCarolinas in Charlotte, NC! If you’re in the area, come say hi! My schedule is as follows:
I had a great time at ConCarolinas last year! And I expect this weekend will be no different. I’m delighted with the panels I got put on. “Chastity Belts and Poisonous Tomatoes” is about how the Middle Ages really weren’t what the Victorians made you think they were, there’s going to be great craft talk in both of the magic-focused panels, and “No Shelf Control” is just me getting to yell about all of my friends’ amazing books, really.
Plus, I’m finally going to try my hand at selling books on-site! I’m not doing a full table, but I’ll have books available for purchase during my signing. I’ve got boxes full of all the new editions, plus some mass markets of From Unseen Fire and Give Way to Night, and even some extra-special, totally-rare, come-see-it-in-the-wild hardcovers of Give Way to Night.

Wrapping It Up
So, remember how I was lamenting that the Starcruiser closing in September meant I would likely never get to go? Well, miracles can happen, my friends. I’m booked on a journey in late August!
This means my brain is likely to be heavily dominated by Star Wars for the foreseeable future as I prep for the trip, build a character, build a costume for the character, all of those necessities, so expect the “What I’ve Been Reading” section to have no few entries from a galaxy far, far away over the next few months.
But, it’s also about to be camp season! So when my head isn’t with the space wizards, it will be with the demigods.
I hope your summers are shaping up to be full of joy!
