Reading this makes me so sad and angry at the same time. I always, I guess rather naively, assumed that sci fi/fantasy cons were safe and welcoming spaces.
And many are! Cons are still pretty much my favorite place to be, and many are actively trying to do better when it comes to walking the walk on DEI. But there are definitely some that are still dominated by an "Old Guard" who think SFF is their personal playground, which is a shame.
